Red Lip Series: Make Up Forever #418

Posted by Lipglossiping On November - 29 - 2012

I always write about lipsticks in my Red Lip Series that I love. So, here’s one that I don’t…

Red Lip Series: Make Up Forever #418

Make Up Forever #418 is a lipstick that I would happily send to room 101 without a second glance or moment of regret. There’s nothing particularly wrong with how it looks once on the lips, but it stinks like the inside of my Nannas old handbag and applies so roughly that I keep imagining squeaking sounds as it passes over my lips.  It’s a bastard of a lipstick, and being RED, is an absolute disgrace to its genre.

Red Lip Series: Make Up Forever #418

I even look slightly pained to be wearing it in the swatch photo don’t I?  This is what mediocre lipstick does to your soul.  It honestly sucks to find the words to express my discontent with below-average lipsticks, so I’m going to stop right here and play with some Burberry reds instead to make myself feel better.

What lipstick has disappointed you recently?

I bought a new L’Oreal lipstick that was supposed to be a bright purple; tried it on and it’s Pensioner Pink instead. Boo!

That’s a shame – it’s quite a nice colour from the look of the photo.

  3. MUFE lipsticks are so expensive and so hard to get hold of (unless you’re in Paris) that if I bought this one and it sucks as you say, I would totally punch it in its damn face. Yeah.

I love Urban Decay revolution- it’s rich and glossy and smooth, but it bleeds like a bitch, even when I wear lip liner/ prep my lips, etc, etc. None of my other reds look half as good once it’s on, but none other lipstick bled so badly either. It’s a love/hate relationship. If there was a dupe with better formula, I’d buy it in a flash, but it’s hard to find a glossy red lipstick :(

  6. I actually love this. Sure it’s a bit pong whiffy but I mix it with a LOT of Vaseline which masks the smell and makes this into a really wearable sheer colour that I’m going to be able to wear daily in the office where a full on red lip is frowned upon.

    Awesomeness.
