Urban Decay Lush Lash – The Results!

Posted by Lipglossiping On May - 6 - 2011

I know a few of you have been keen to hear about how I fared with my trial of Urban Decay’s Lush Lash System*.  I started the trial back in February and finished up the tube a few weeks ago.

The system promises lashes that are…

– 25% longer and thicker in 2 weeks
– 40% longer in 4 weeks
– 63% longer in 6 weeks

Sadly, I didn’t experience anything as impressive as those results.  Infact, I’m not really sure I experienced anything much at all.  See what you think (the top image shows the BEFORE, the bottom image is AFTER using the system for 8 weeks).

I think I see more fullness to my lashline… but no increase in length.  Or at least, nothing worth shouting about.  (On a side note, damn… I think I’m in love with my eye cream LOL!)

As a peptide-based lash growth system, it works on the premise of protecting the lashes you already have and strengthening new ones coming through, thereby increasing their life cycle.  This is probably why I’m seeing a slight increase in volume as the lashes that would have normally fallen out are still clinging on thanks to the fortification.

At £28 it’s an affordable alternative to the more expensive systems out there which include the likes of M2Beauté, LiLash and Revitalash but I can’t help but wonder if sometimes, you really do get what you pay for.

.

Urban Decay Lush Lash is priced at £28 and available to buy online from BeautyBay, LookFantastic and HQHair

I was wondering if this would be any good. Sigh, I think I’m going to have to stick to falsies.

  2. FaceFixers says:

That’s a shame it didn’t work too well. I thought the tips of your lashes looked darker (?) but that’s probably got nothing to do with the lush lash.

  3. Sydney says:

Finding this a bit of a disappointment. Really hope that UD would create something that had a little bit more of an effect.

In a lighter note, your eye colour is amazing. Loving that you can see your window in the reflection of your eye in the second picture :)

  4. OK then – what eye cream are you using?! xx

  5. Jessi says:

They do look slightly fuller in the bottom pic but I don’t think anyone would notice outside of macro pictures. I admire your dedication to using this though. I tried one of these lash growth thingies and gave up after 3 days, haha.

  6. Esteeem says:

yay! Glad you posted your review, although I ended up using the Lush Lash system, and to be honest, I’ve actually seen an increase in length in my lashes, although fullness is what I wanted… I’ll post a review after 6 weeks of use as suggested by UD, but I have come across another customer who has noticed an increase in length of lashes but also, no fullness.
Did you wear it religiously every night? And also, apparently if you dont put it at the root of your lashes, only on your eyelids near your lashes, then you dont get the full benefit of the product..

They look darker, maybe thicker, but definitely not longer. Thanks for testing this!!

    • Vicky says:

      My thoughts exactly.

Also, please, do tell which eye cream you’re using. That is a difference I can tell!

  8. Öykü says:

Please tell us which eye cream you are using :)

  9. Vijaya says:

Interesting. I have full lashes, though, so I think I’m gonna pass.

  10. Esha says:

What a disappointing result I was contemplating purchasing this but will give it a miss now, thanks for the heads up!

  11. They do look a touch darker and fuller :)

  12. Mayumi says:

it might be the lighting, but your lashes look darker in the “after” picture too!

  13. Phyrra says:

I think the peptides is what the Nyx grow lash works off of as well, and I didn’t see results with that. It sucks that it doesn’t really work :/ Thank you for reviewing this one!

  14. Lauren says:

I think they may be longer, but it’s hard to tell. Perhaps the angle isn’t the same? It appears that you are looking more upward in the before picture, which I think could be part of why they don’t look any longer in the after – if that even makes sense! I’ve been using this product for a few months now and feel that my lashes are a bit longer, but not dramatically so. Still, I do like it! Thanks for the review!
