Girl Crush.
Definition: an overwhelming sense of awe felt by a girl for another girl.
In my life, I’ve probably had more girl crushes than I have boy crushes. Is that unusual? I’m not so sure it is. There’s nothing us women enjoy more than a gossip about the merits and failings of another woman. It would be nice to think that we’re more inclined to discuss each other’s merits… but well, you know… *looks guilty*.
In some small way of redressing the bitch-balance, I’d like to come clean and reveal some of my girl crushes. These women, love them… all of them:

To be fair, these aren’t quite girl crushes in the typical sense… I don’t necessarily admire these women for the way they handle themselves, the images they portray, what they’ve achieved or what value they have brought to my life.
I just think they’re all really, really hot.

Oh me too! I can’t be bothered crushing on men, they’re all so boyish, and I’ve got my husband so that’ll do fine, he’s lovely, I’m happy with that. But girls! So many girls I totally girl crush on, usually for stuff like I like how clothes look on them or their hair or their collarbones or something. Helena Bonham Carter made both of our lists! That’s because she’s bonkers.

I’m with Powdered Almond…I don’t even bother with guy crushes. Christina Hendricks is my current massive girl crush. The curves, the hair & that skin!
Totally with you on this, I could girl crush over Olivia Wilde, Jennifer Lawrence, Rachel Weisz and Natalie Portman alll day. And basically any actress from the 20s-60s. Love!

Girl crushes are so much more fun than guy crushes. My list at the moment: Florence Welch, Sara Bareilles, Olivia Wilde and Jennifer Morrison. I think it’s important to have girl crushes– they help us work out how to live, inspire our style (I’m currently doing Florence-esque hairstyles every few days!), and stand out as good human beings.
You’ve picked some scorchers there! I don’t tend to get girl crushes very much because I am pathetically boy crazy 😛 But some of my faves are Beth Ditto, Kate Bush, Cyndi Lauper, Marilyn Monroe, Diana Dors, Jane Russell, Mae West, Clara Bow and basically any Hollywood starlet from the 20s-50s 😛
My all time girl crush is Monica Bellucci, but I have many – Pink, Adele, Beth Ditto, Dawn French, Catherine Zeta Jones, Queen Latifah, Kat Von D.
I’m with you on the girl crush front! My main ones are Adele, Helena Bonham Carter, Jennifer Lawrence, Audrey Hepburn, and Emma Stone. I love their style and their attitude, not to mention their awe-inspiring talent!

My first serious girl crush was on Helen Baxendale but nowadays Charlize Theron really does it for me. She is just perfect in every way. 🙂
