Shiseido Accentuating Color Stick

Posted by Lipglossiping On November - 5 - 2010

When I went to London a few weeks ago, I was on a mission.  I wanted to buy something that I couldn’t get from any of my local stores and I wanted it to be something from a brand that I wasn’t hugely familliar with.

I asked on Twitter and received a suggestion for the Shiseido Accentuating Color Sticks…. cream blushes?  I was all over it.  Like an embarrassing rash.

I’m a sucker for cream blushes, particularly when they’re in stick form like this… the only problem that lay ahead of me now was shade selection.

Three shades had caught my eye and I was truly torn.

Peach Flush, Rosy Flush and Champagne Flush.

Peach Flush looked quite… well… peachy to my eye and I’m always a little fearful of anything warm-toned but I know that when I get the shade right…. peach can really brighten up my complexion and play down the redness in my cheeks.

Rosy Flush was the one I was drawn to naturally… but my only caveat was that it was really quite bright… almost dolly pink rather than a true rose colour.  Less natural looking, but lovely for the Winter nonetheless.

Lastly, Champagne Flush… one of those beautiful shimmering highlighter shades that give that “lit from within” look.  Just a hint of pink pearl…. very lovely, but did I want another highlighter?

I went with Rosy Flush.  I handed over my card, paid my monies and went on my way not entirely sure I’d made the right decision.  Infact, I got as far as the Clinique counter and changed my mind.

Sheepishly, I went back and asked if I could change for a different shade and the counter staff couldn’t have been more accommodating… even going so far as to not treat me like a nuisance… I KNOW!  In SELFRIDGES?  Ah. Mazing.

Wanna know which one I got?

Peach Flush!  Aren’t I brave?

And I love it…

I’m so pleased I changed my mind and went for the less safe option.  The Shiseido Accentuating Color Stick is a sheer cream to powder formula that doesn’t look at all greasyand I find it easier to blend than the NARS multiples (which although I love, I find a bit… tough going?).

Peach Flush really does give me a naturally warm flush and wears beautifully under NARS Orgasm and Deep Throat for a slightly bolder look.  It has a very subtle shimmer that isn’t too apparent once on the cheeks.

I take a little colour from the stick onto my finger tips and apply that way…. although tempting, I wouldn’t recommend applying straight from the tube.  Stripe-o-rama.

The only downside to the Shiseido Accentuating Color Stick is in it’s lasting power… I get about 4 hours wear from it before it disappears.  If I need it to last all day, then I wear it underneath a complementing powder blush.

Of course, now that I’ve bought Peach Flush… I’m desperate to get my hands on Rosy and Champagne too.

Shiseido Accentuating Color Sticks are available from counters nationwide priced at £26 each.

Shiseido is one of the most underrated brand ever. i haven’t heard of much love from them in blogs or anything.

The cream blushes look amazing 😀

I am actually working for shiseido and this brand is very underrated, It is an amazing brand of makeup and skincare! The pureness line for combination skin is amazing, my skin never felt more pure and fresh, and it also reduced my acne scars. The makeup line is also great. Their matte lipsticks dont feel dry at all, and the color pay off is good. Also, the new trios they released are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The texture feel almost buttery, the colors are really really pretty (like the jungle one, greens that look flat at firt sight but they have a really pretty golden sheen in it that make them really stand out). I couldn’t talk enough of that brand

My aunt swears by their Nobara stick foundation, and their rouge unlimited lipsticks are beautiful.

I like this, but it’s missing something, you wearing it!

i found the exact same thing with this! i loved the colour and packaging but it just lacked the staying power.

  4. Sounds like a products that I would love, thanks for review. I am happy that they let you get the other shade 😉

That’s a beautiful shade but it’s a shame it doesn’t last that long.

I have this! And I love it. I was actually one of the first blushes I discovered that looks good on me – I am very pale, almost as pale as you, except I have a LOT of red in my cheeks, and more skin issues (blemishes, mostly hormonal, that I’m constantly fighting off).
I know it looks really bright, but I find it surprisingly easy to wear, and what I love most of all is that it doesn’t emphasize my redness, it actually kinda tones it down!
I think it’s almost like a cream to powder … but I wonder if it would last longer if set with a powder like MUFE HD or something? I don’t have issues with lasting time, but it’s possible that blush wearing off is less obvious on me as my natural flush will simultaneously start to show through.

The other Shiseido product that I own and love which happens to come in the same packaging is the Color Control stick which is basically the same formula, and is a very light slightly green-yellow color for color-correcting redness. I absolutely adore that, it’s a HG.

I’m really going to check this out-plus that colour-correcting one Ann is talking about. Thanks for sharing it1

Shisedio has been one of the top selling male-up brands in New Zealand. They also have a more budget brand called moisture mist which has the top selling pancake foundtion. It’s a staple item for every young make-up user. I can’t believe it’s not a big brand over in the UK?

I’ve swatched that Champagne colour so many times and I still haven’t bought it. I have Copacabana and can’t really justify the purchase, but boy am I tempted… 🙂

This is my kinda colour! Also interested to see if Rosy Flush would be as lovely as the colour swatch
