Question of the Week – Tell us about a funny makeup/beauty mistake you have made…or care to admit to?

Answer - My teenage years were pretty much dedicated to making beauty mistakes.  Powder compacts that were a full shade (or more) too pale for my complexion teamed with thickly-rimmed kohl eyes that went alllllll the way around.  Hai Panda.

Question of the Week – When it comes to grooming the brows, what’s your preference? Wax, tweeze or thread?

Answer: -  Threading all the way!  Once I’d finally put the tweezers down and made friends with my local threading lady, my barely-there brows began to thrive and I now sport an impressive pair of forehead-warmers! There’s also nothing quite like the beautifully sharp, clean finish that newly threaded brows displays.

Answer: - I don’t have a go-to finish. If I like the lipstick, I like the lipstick. The first thing that draws me in is the colour.  I’m an uncomplicated woman! (mostly).

Answer - I will never run out of red lipstick, I have far too many for one woman and it makes me feel all sorts of guilty at the pure excess when I look at my collection.  The first thing I would run out of would be my Illamasqua eyebrow powder, I don’t buy backups, I only like one shade and I use it everyday.

Answer – It’s this one from Clarins Autumn collection the year before last!  I’ve already secured a backup of it on eBay.  It’s so finely textured for a pressed powder and brightens my complexion without adding any sparkle.  Simply perfect.  In my opinion, Clarins make the best pressed face-powders on the market.

Question of the Week – What essential products would you recommend to a friend who is just starting to build her beauty arsenal?

Answer: - I used to be reluctant to part with significant amounts of money, so it’d be no good trying to fill a newbie’s makeup bag with Chanel.  For starters, I’d suggest a capsule collection of: Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner, Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer or Maybelline mineral one, A cheap neutral eye palette, Maybelline mascara (the yellow tubed one), NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, done.  Oh wait, blush…. ummm… a MyFace Cosmetics one I think.

Pink Sith – thinks that her Birchbox subscription is trying to break up with her based on the contents of the box from February.

Prime Beauty – takes the confusion out of the myriad of eyeliner choices on the marker and helps you decide which is for you!

Answer: - Oh, I like this question because I can answer it with absolute confidence!  My three can’t-live-without nail products are (in no particular order): LUSH Lemony Flutter, Mont Bleu Crystal Nail File, and Lumos High Speed Top Coat.

Nouveau Cheap – ChapStick has been releasing some yummy Limited Edition flavors over the past few years, but their new Cupcake Creations Collection really takes the cake (pun intended). Grab these babies while you can!
