L’oreal Paris True Match Roll On Roller Foundation

Posted by Lipglossiping On October - 1 - 2009

Wait, how did I miss this?

Seems this gimmick-screaming gem passed me by when it was launched at the beginning of the month.

rollonslap

It works in a simillar way to a printing plate.  Take the roller, roll it back and forward a few times over the foundation and then ROLLER your face with it.  Sexy.

I can’t imagine that it would be easy to achieve even coverage around the eyes or nose without using a brush or your fingers… but until I’ve seen it in person I’ll stop screeching “TIDE-MARKS!” at the picture.

However, I do hope this current trend of novelty innovation passes soon.

L’oreal Paris True Match Roll On Foundation is available from Boots, Superdrug et al. priced at £12.99

Alternatively, for those on a tighter budget… Homebase are doing 3for2 on Dulux at the moment.

I saw thi on the TV and it made me laugh, especially when they showed “conventional foundation” and this one and showed how this doesn’t leave you patchy. What REALLY made me chortle was the fact that they rolled this one onto the surface and under it they wrote “NO SPECIAL EFFECTS” or words to that effect.

The boy thought the product took the phrase “painting your face” a bit too literally.

The packaging leaves a lot to be desired too, seems like they took their inspiration from a tin of sardines.

I am a self confessed make-up tart and will try just about anything that comes on the market. However, when I saw this I thought to myself that not even I am that gullible! I can’t see how a roller is going to get around the nooks and crannies of anyone’s face regardless of age or features. Surely you would have to finish it off with a brush or your fingers? Totally ridiculous.

That said, if someone showed any interest in buying it I would encourage them so I could judge for myself whether they’re a numpty for buying it or whether Loreal are geniuses!

  3. This is quite possibly the most ridiculous makeup product out there. However I, like you, have not tried it. Nor do I plan to. LOL at the comparison to Dulux!!

I can’t believe they managed to get Eva Longoria to promote it! God knows how she kept a straight face rolling it onto her face! It’s pure comical and how they can justify it being £13 I do not know!! x

I’ve seen this in the shops, the colour selection is dreadful, and the roller is far too wide. Frankly, I can’t see how this one ever made it out of product development.

this foundation seems pretty gimmicky, but its actually really good!
it gives even coverage (id say medium- but you can build it up over problem areas) the roller is easy to use, and reaches in the small hard to reach areas pretty well, you might just need a finger to blend.
the colour selection however is dreadful for anyone pale or with darker skin. the lightest one seems to me to be pink? :S
did nobody realise that foundation IS basically paint for faces?
so it makes sense to use a roller to be honest.
    id recommend it to anyone

    • Hi Becca,

      Thanks for commenting!

I did review it and didn’t think much of it, review is here if you’re interested :)

I don’t find the lightest to be pink at all? It’s very orange on my pale pink toned skin.

Glad it works for you though – hoorah!

This is absolutely ridiculous but I’ve seen it sitting on the shelves the last few times I’ve been in stores and while i KNOW it will be awful I can’t help but want to try it, just once. I’m not curious enough to pay the $12 myself, but if I had a friend who owned it I would have to try just to know. Lol.
