What happens in London…

Posted by Lipglossiping On October - 12 - 2009

stays in Lon… usually comes home with me in a lovely iconic yellow paper bag ;)

So, I was up in London on Saturday for the wonderful Aussie Project Angel event (more details to come later..) and saw lots of lovely things to add to my stash.

Ok, well I didn’t get *all* these bits in London.. the Stila stuff I ordered a couple of weeks ago and turned up today so thought I’d throw them in.

I went on a bit of a lipstick buying rampage – and had to be physically restrained from buying another Shu one that I had my eye on.

On the left, the unmistakable Lingerie Pink… and on the right, the lovely Shu Rouge Unlimited BG907.

I had no intentions of buying Lingerie Pink until I tried it on out of pure curiousity at the counter.  Instant love.

I first saw the Shu one when I went to the Maybelline Event last month and have lusted after it ever since.

How pretty?! – L-R: Pound Cake, Strawberry Sorbet, Baby Cakes

supracolor

Kryolan Supra Color Black Greasepaint recommended to me by LondonMUGirl.  First impressions… wonderful to blend eyeshadow over compared to UDPP, but it starts creasing after 3hrs :(

L-R: MAC Woodwinked (been on my wishlist a LONG time), Kryolan Matte Highlight (got this by accident after SA put the wrong eyeshadow in my bag… grrr.)

Well, that concludes my first proper “haul” post… hope it wasn’t too dull.  I enjoy reading about everyone else’s newest acquisitions, but everyone is different so apologies if this was a boring read – move along, I’m done now!

Oh, and the Stila can wait ’till the rest of my order turns up :)

I find that Stila stuff is gorgeous. I didn’t try their facey bits because there were no samples at the sample sale (you’d think there would be..) so I just got eye bits.

The smudgepots are gorgeous, I use mine (I have black, jade and purple, I wanted cobalt but they had none) as both a shadow and a liner and they’re excellent.

The Essie polishes look mighty handsome, especially strawberry shortcake. I have something else to say but I can’t remember..

Oh yeah! The one thing I don’t like about the Shu stuff is that it looks cheap, not the actual colour but the packaging itself. I’m sure they could sass it up a bit.

This is quite random but I love the quality of your photographs! They are all so clear and make all of the products look even more appealing!

I didn’t realise you went to the Maybelline event!x

Oh how much was the Shu lipstick? It looks gorgeous!!
I have found that the supracolour works best on top of urban decay primer potion, the eyeshadows still blend really easily over the black and it helps prevent the creasing!

Woodwinked is in my top 5 all time fave eyeshadows, I wore it on my wedding day. It’s just stunning and I love the finish.
The Shu lippie looks lovely, can’t wait to see a FOTD using that xx

I do like the look of those YSL but I have a feeling it could get dangerous if I started looking at them.

:( for the creasiness. Maybe try the Kryolan over a little UDPP? I am quite dry-lidded, so I like the extra moisture – when I tried UDPP I felt like my skin had shrunk (nice visual there, huh?)

  10. @Rhamnousia – Glad to hear the smudgepots are lovely! I got 2 in Cobalt, one for me and one for a future giveaway – are you feeling lucky? The Shu packaging does look a bit cheap… it’s all clear perspexy stuff isn’t it. Looks even worse when you place it next to YSL like I have LOL

@Daisy – Thank you ever so much :D Yes, I was at Maybelline, kinda skulking in corners and whatnot!

@rijaH – It looks lovely, I can’t wait to try it! I hope it’s opaque?

@JoBetterDays – It was £17.50 *i think* really close to that mark anyway. It’s just a lovely wearable pinky nude. Thanks for the tip, will definitely try that out!

@MizzWorthy – I’ll shall definitely let you know!

@DressJunkie – Hello! I’m so glad I got Woodwinked, it was between that and Satin Taupe but this is just so pretty. I’ll do a FOTD with the Shu very soon! xx

@GraceLondon – It is dangerous, I had NO intention of buying the YSL, it caught me completely by surprise. They are so creamy though. I’m gonna try that with the Kryolan ‘cos I don’t wanna give up on it, I love how easily I can blend over the top of it.

@MIchelle – Wicked things them Rouge Voluptes… xxx

    @Tali – Will do! xxx
