Boots No7 – Stay Perfect Eye Mousse

Posted by Lipglossiping On May - 25 - 2010

I was starting to run out of things to spend my £5 No7 vouchers on when I spied these unassuming little tubes on the No7 counter.  I’m a total sucker for cream eyeshadows and when I swatched these, I knew I had to have them!

They’re a very light mousse formula and although the tubes are teeny tiny, a little goes a very long way.  I keep squeezing out too much!  Easy to apply and blend, I usually use my finger before running a brush over the edges just to make sure that they’re softened.

I bought them without doing any blog research and was concerned that they’d last approximately 5 seconds before creasing on me.  In general, I’m not a HUGE No7 makeup fan… there’s definitely some real stand outs from the line, but it’s not usually a brand I purchase from without doing a bit of research beforehand.

I have to say though, I made a good choice with these!  They last a decent 5/6 hours when used with no base before they begin to travel upwards… combine with a slick of UDPP and I can get about 7/8 hours wear out of them.  I haven’t tried setting them with a light dusting of complementary eyeshadow… but I think that would prolong wear even further.

Not too shabby really.

The colours are beautiful and what attracted me to them in the first place, there’s one more (a bronzey shade) that I like the look of aswell, but I’ll wait ’till the £5 off No7 till spit comes round again before adding it to my collection.

£8.75 each from Boots instore or online.

Have you tried these?

Love these 🙂 I wish they had a wider color selection of them at target though, that’s the only place I can get them and they only have 3 different shades! x

i tried pewter as GWP, and i quite like it as it stays around 7 hrs for me and it is quite highly pigmented. so with the £5 off voucher, it is quite remarkable

Great review! If I ever get the chance to buy these, I definitely would 🙂

Now I want to try them and I wish the till splitting vouchers had not run out on sunday!

I know the feeling – I ran out of things to spend my vouchers on too! I bought these during the same promotion a few months ago, but found I needed to use UDPP to get them to stick (and not crease, bleurgh).

Took a chance on the new No.7 Lift and Luminate foundation which I thoroughly recommend, especially for fair skin (as No.7 have finally addressed their orange-foundation-tone tendencies!). I’ve got swatches, comparing it to other pale foundations on my blog – would really recommend it!

    Love

Oooh the Pewter shade looks beautiful! Did they crease at all?

  8. Rae says:

AHHH! Oh my goodness, those shades are absolutely gorgeous.

I have this sneaking suspicion that your mad camera skills have the ability to make just about any item look superappealing to me, because it’s either that or you’re actually surrounded by incredibly gorgeous items 24/7. (This includes your face, for the record.)

    Seriously, though. Gorgeous!

  9. They look really good! I’m also a sucker for cream eyeshadows, when thay work, they’re awesome!

    waw…wawawaaawww!

I saw them but left them behind as the last cream shadow I had was way too runny and I looked like an alien with it on..doesn’t help that it was silver.

Anyway, I spent my splits on the metallic pencils that I love, two nail polishes (pretty good) but I will use my next ones on these as the consistency seems pretty good.

Oh I have the Vanilla one of these, I got it about 5 years ago as part of a xmas pressie, I’m pretty sure it’s the same colour and formulation, although the tube is black. Anyway, i’m not overawed with it to be honest; HOWEVER, the look of that pewter may be enough for me to give them another try!
