Boots No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara is verging ever closer to holy grail!
Did you catch that? I don’t like declaring stuff like that… I’m not even sure if I believe in ‘holy grail’ products… but my word, do I ever love this mascara.
I only picked it up because I wanted the free eyeshadow palette that came with it.
The brush is well designed, incorporating features from rival brands and merging them seamlessly onto the one wand. I particularly like the spikey tip that ensures good product distribution into the corner lashes. The other features on the brush include both long and short spikes which really do allow for a good comb through.
Something else that this mascara manages to avoid courtesy of a well-designed brush is product overload. My mascara pet peeve is when a brush holds SO much product, it makes my lashes clump from 4 feet away. I can really comb through my lashes with this over and over if necessary and they just. don’t. clump. Amazing.

That’s some definition right there isn’t it? That’s also only one coat. I do spend a little time combing through with this wand… not because I have to… but the application seems to perfect itself if you take 30 seconds to properly wiggle the wand about and ‘place’ your lashes.
This may look a bit spidery for some… in fairness, my lashes always look a bit spidery when I wear mascara with no eyeliner, I should probably make sure to apply some before the photos, but I quite like being able to show you how effective/rubbish the wand is at getting to the roots of the lashes.

Oh my… I nearly forgot one of the most important things I wanted to say about it! Absolutely no smudges. None. Nada. No flaking either. It is a bit of a bugger to remove though… proper dedicated eye makeup remover/cleansing oil needed.

I LOOVVEE this mascara but what I love even more is the free eyeshadow palette they gave away with it a little while ago, The two together are my go to every day eye at the moment, so easy to wear.
I bought mine today with the voucher (expires today). Will see how it goes this week! Have yet to find THE mascara, so many promises yet so many disappointments…
I bought this mascara with the 5 pound off voucher as well and I really like it too! I really wasn’t expecting to as the other couple of No.7 mascaras I’ve tried weren’t that great. I think I like it even better than my MAC Plushlash, and that’s saying a lot.
Wow, I totally by passed this as I thought No7 and mascara’s don’t have the best track record, but will definitely give it a go now! xx
Wonder if I can find this in the US. I’ll be checking out the Boots/no.7 display at Target next time I’m there!
I got this for the palette too (with £5 off), but haven’t used it as I don’t like having too many open mascaras (I already have 6 or more as it is). Glad to hear it’s good though, I like my Extreme Lenghts one too that I also got for a palette.

I love their 360 one and I found that out totally by chance because I got a sample in a magazine.
I tell you what I do rate of theirs, their metallic eye pencils..I find them far better than UD ones.
My current favourite mascara is a secret because I’m doing a post on it v. soon! My old school faves are the Prestige My Biggest Lashes and Maybelline’s Colossal..the latter is totally idiot proof, I never get a bad result with it even when I chuck it on in a few seconds.

I was loving the review until the last sentence, you see my lashes may be long, but they are complete wimps when it comes to mascara and if it is a bugger to remove I know that it will gather up my wimpy lashes with it and I will have major fall out, also have never been keen on plastic brushes and fear that in a few years time I will be furtively searching on the bay for mascaras with *old fashioned* bristle brushes. Glad it is working for you though. Jan x

It looks great on you! I remember the first time I saw it in a Lisa Eldridge video and thought the wand was the coolest thing ever XD
I am loving this mascara too. My only 2 complaints with it are that sometimes I am a bit cack handed and manage to poke myself in the eye 🙁 that’s really my own fault though lol. I also find it smudge 🙁 but other than that it’s amazing and for £7 with £5 off its amazing 🙂
Oooh looks awesome!! I usually use 2000 cal, or Diorshow when I’m more flush, but the other day I found a Boots 17 mascara in the bargain bin for £2, it’s the Va Va Voom one, and Oh My God. it’s bloody fantastic! AND I accidentally bought it in brown, which I would NEVER normally buy, but it looks so pretty, I’ve been wearing it literally every day.
