It’s baaaack! Selfridges’ Beauty Advent Calendar

Posted by Lipglossiping On July - 21 - 2011

The Selfridges’ Beauty Advent Calendar will be making a triumphant return this Christmas!

Each window houses Selfridges’ most popular beauty products in miniature! Who needs chocolate anyway?!

Mini presents include Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil, Lancôme Teint Miracle and Mini Juicy Tube, YSL Belle D’Opium, Kiehls Creme de Corps and Emporio Armani Diamonds.

The Advent calendars are priced at £70 each, are notoriously popular and sell out quickly.

I’m very tempted to start saving some pennies in a jar now, any number-heads know how much we’d need to squirrel away daily to come up with the £70 by October’s release?

  1. lishlash says:

It looks extrememly similar to last years? Possibly different perfumes, but otherwise almost identical!

  2. Steph says:

    50p a day?

I am lusting over this so much. :O

  3. Suzanne says:

oh my GOD. how on earth would an australian go about getting one of these?

  4. Lily says:

I’d LOVE this. However I haven’t even had a £3 chocolate one for years, so it’s wishful thinking haha :)

  5. Jude Dunn says:

Wow, I’ve never seen one of these before, I want it, no correction, I neeeed it! Jude xx @jadlgw BTW £1 per day between now and October 1st xx

  6. Alice says:

I think I’m going to skip it this year – it looks the same as last years?!

  7. Lara says:

Phwoar. I’ve actually never had an advent calendar, since my family don’t really go in for that kind of thing, but dang. That’s my kind of calendar xD Also, if we assume first of october release, I think you’d need to put away about 98p a day to make it! Or just put in a pound and buy yourself a teeny little something with the extra £1.40 =P

  8. ketoglutarat says:

    OMG a must have for mini-lovers! 😉

  9. Tass says:

Aww they have a mini version of Lancome Miracle, my favourite perfume! xx

  10. This looks amazing! I’ve never seen these before.. I think I’ll have to start saving for it too!

  11. Anitacska says:

About 80p a day will do, depending in what time in October the release is. If it’s at the beginning of the month, save a quid a day already!

  12. Leah says:

22-ish weeks til Xmas, makes about £3.20 a week to save roughly. It sounds SO reasonable when you put it like that!

  13. Fee says:

Ahhhh I am so tempted this year! I definitely think it would make the month of December a lot more enjoyable :).

But like you mention I think I may need to start saving now as I don’t think I could justify that type of spend near Christmas on myself!

    Fee x

  14. Claire says:

Uggh I can’t believe Christmas things are coming out of the woodworks already!! Having said that, I would love this in my stocking :)

  15. oh how i wish a canadian department store would do something like this!

  16. I really love this! I am really tempted!

  17. Eyelining says:

I really wanted this last year but resisted. Sod it, I’m having it this year!!! x

  18. shanice says:

Oh the things I would do for one of these!

  19. LeanneOCD says:

NNNNEEEEEEEDDDDDD! I remember seeing a Decleor version in a random shop in Oslo the year before last. It was so expensive (as Oslo is!) so I didn’t get one in the end. Kicked myself afterwards. Not going to miss out this time!! x

  20. I want it soooo badly! you think if we agree to put by at least £10 a month we could buy one??? plan?? xxx

  21. Chelsea says:

19-ish weeks until the end of November so that’s about £3.70 a week, or just over 50p a day 😛

    • Chelsea says:

Or for the October release (assuming you want to have the money ready on the 1st) it’s about £4.70 a week, call it a fiver.

      • Chelsea says:

or I can’t calculate the difference between the beginning and the end of October, so it’ll be about a tenner a week. I’m rubbish!

  22. Right, that’s it… I’ve decided. You lot are rubbish at maths by the way.

I’m gonna put aside £6 a week which means I’ll have £66 in 11 weeks time which will be the 6th October (I’m sure I can beg/steal or borrow the other £4 from Mr. L).

Like I said, you gotta be quick if you want one of these so there’s no point waiting till the end of November to buy it.

£6 a week is roughly two iced skinny hazelnut lattes, I shall have to make sacrifices for such a frivolous WANT.

    Who’s with me?

  23. kyanvi says:

£70? it was lower last year, i think. I was planned to get it, but didn’t see it in store….sigh… but not sure whether there will be a better use of the £70. if there are better things to spend on, then definitely a pass.

  24. Angela says:

I wish we had something like this in the States,it looks like so much fun!

  25. Lucy says:

Oh no, I’d only just forgotten about last years one….

  26. Joanna Davis says:

Lovely selection but for £70 couldn’t they improve on the presentation and have a nicer box?

  27. What an awesome idea! I would totally buy one of these see if I could restrain myself from opening windows early XD

  28. Vicki Bowker says:

My boss gave me one last year and I loved it – I am still using some of the goodies :) I will definately be buying 2 this year for my daughters – any chance of you sending one to New Zealand ??? I thought the presentation box was amazing – still have mine :)
