Sue Devitt Makeup at TKMaxx Now!

If you’ve been into a TKMaxx store recently, you might have spotted some lovely goodies from Sue Devitt.  I was alerted to the discount store’s recent haul of premium cosmetics by the lovely Wordbird on Twitter who only had to mention the eye pencils to have me running to my nearest store.  If you don’t know about the Australian brand (and the makeup artist behind the name), let me quickly tell you a little bit about it.

The brainchild of international makeup artist Sue Devitt, her brand was born from her love and experiences of travelling around the world.  You may recognise many of the shade names as global locations (particularly some lesser-known Australian ones!) that she has visited throughout her career.  The line was based around an idea to bring together the benefits of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals alongside a colour palette of cosmetics.  In the UK, the brand was sold in Fenwick, and Harvey Nichols but alas folded earlier this year.

My TKMaxx “splurge” came to a total of £15

Sue Devitt Intensifier Eye Pencils (£1.99 ea)

Esna Eyeshadow and Vanuatu Blush (£1.99 ea)

Sue Devitt Seaweed Gel Based Liquid Foundation in Tanami (£3.00)

I’ve only really had a quick play with the pencils which are creamy and richly pigmented.  They move about fairly easily and the chubby format dictates a slightly more lived-in look but I’m loving using them as all-over eye colours and smudged under the lower lashline for a more informal wear.

The foundation has a ton of slip and feels lightweight on the skin, you can see that the shade Tanami is more my Summer colour so I’d suggest it as a good match for a NW20.  It delivers a sheer finish but doesn’t feel too drying on my parched skin.

The eyeshadow and blush, I’ve yet to wear but both feel finely-milled with a decent pigment and a soft, almost creamy (powdery) application.

Have you spotted the Sue Devitt range at TKMaxx?  Picked up any bargains?

I love the theme of this line! I wonder if we can get it here in the USA

Way back when Ulta used to carry this line (like, three years ago) I picked up the Tanzania and Surat eye pencils. Even though I haven’t used it in ages, Surat was always one of my faourite taupes! Managed to grab a backup for $10 (instead of $21, I think?) a while ago too 🙂

I have definitely indulged! I usually keep some kind of eyeshadow stick and a mascara in my handbag in case I forget to put slap on in the morning. (School run. I am deeply crap. It happens a lot.)

Plus, my girlfriends and I have a £5 max spend agreement for Christmas prezzies, which makes these ideal giftage. I also picked up Epernay, which is a champagney colour eye pencil, great for highlighting. And an illuminating concealer in a clicky pen thing… OK a Touche Eclat-type thing – which is cracking. Most of the foundations and concealers in my branch are for darker skins. But there were also some rather nice loose and pressed powders that I was tempted by but didn’t go for in the end.
All so ridiculously cheap cheap! Serious stocking-filler heaven.

I indulged too once I’d seen your post – engineered a visit to Brantano on Christmas Eve and TK Maxx just happens to be 2 doors down. Got husband a new Zirh set and 6 of the eyeliners for me. I got Tanzania, Gold Reef (deep purply brown), Ava, Bangalore (olive green), Surat and Epernay (champagne). Tanzania, Surat and Epernay are my favourites of the bunch, they’re lovely. Unfortunately, their foundations and concealers were only in dark shades and they didn’t have the blushes or shadows at all. That Esna eyeshadow looks so pretty as a highlighter for cheeks. Thank you for the bargain post as well as the Becca deals from Fragrance Direct post on Twitter.

Things I’ve had in the sales so far other than these were:
Escentual: Clarins Exfoliating Brightening Toner (£25 down to £20) and Guerlain Rouge G in Madame Flirt (£31 down to £15.50)
SpaceNK: Shu Uemura Heart Full Pink Palette (£60 down to £30)
M&S: Two new pairs of the comfiest Jeggings ever (£45 down to £31.50)
Fragrance Direct: All Becca – Luminous Skin Colour (Porcelain), Radiance Primer, Beach Tint (strawberry), Nude Lip Liner (Nougat), Line & Illuminate Eyeliner (Mustique), Line and pore Corrector Soft Focus Primer, Jumbo pencil sharpener, slim dual point sharpener, Fine Loose Finishing Powder (Bisque). All for £40 from an rrp of around £200. Used cashback site Quidco on all of them too!

Managed to get the newest Philips Lumea for £240 from Boots back at the beginning of the month too (plus £7.50 cashback and £37.50 worth of Boots points).

All shopped out now though, January’s going to be one tough month!

I spotted a whole shelf of this stuff in my local TK Maxx but passed since I’ve never heard of it before – I’ll have to have a closer look next time I’m in! Those pencils look beautiful.
