It’s all in the technique…

I’ve spent the last 14 years swirling, wiping and generally smearing the setting powder “du jour” onto my face.  Only in the last month have I started patting it on.  Whether with a large fluffy powder brush or a sponge… I just pat, pat, pat and get better, more even and less cakey coverage.

What else…

Oh yes, brows.. if I press my finger where my natural arch is and gently pull the brow/skin taut… I find it much easier to brush the brow powder through and I get a much neater, more defined result.

What are your application A-ha’s!?

  1. Lizzard says:

kissy face and almost fish face for contouring! and wide clown smile for blush 😉

  2. I do that too, but I’ve been reading that you shouldn’t do the big smile for blush as it artificially raises your cheeks and then when you finish… your cheeks fall and the blush is too low. All very complicated!

  3. Katrine says:

Brushing the very last bit of blush – be it liquid, cream or powder – over the edges of my under eye concealing. I’m one of the white-and-pink as well, and so my concealer is quite low to cover up blood vessels – the fate of the see-through. The blush really helps with concealing the concealer.
Also, warming up concealer and foundation between my fingers – thinner and more even application.
And I have to mention a removal a-ha: coconut oil for eye makeup. It’s really good for dry skin around the eye, but also just the BEST eye makeup remover I have ever tried. Better than ANY store bought, and other natural oils as well. It’s not acidic like olive oil, and transportation is easier since it’s not fluid. But seriously – mascara actually FLAKES OFF the second I smear this on, I’ts so effective. No rubbing, no nothing. Try it!!!
