FOTD – GOSH Smoky Eyes Palette

Posted by Lipglossiping On December - 2 - 2009

Here’s that FOTD I promised showing the GOSH Smoky Eyes Palette I was sent.

Remember the one?

GOSHEyeShadowCollection

No, sorry not that one… I meant this one…

*alright, stop bitching about their crap stock imagery already*

Anyway, I was semi pleased that it wasn’t hugely pigmented as I find the Sleek MakeUP Graphite palette so hard to work with.  Although I was unsure if I would get much payoff from that light grey (2nd from right) at all…

GOSHFOTD

And I was right! (which makes a change).

I do really like this for a non-overpowering smoky eye.  It feels more grown up, more genteel and sophisticated than the Sleek Graphite Palette.  Unfortunately, I got nothing from that pale grey shade at all.  I applied it in the crease and blended upwards but you just wouldn’t be able to tell.

I hereby class this a “nearly” palette… “nearly” good, but no cigar.

looking great! I like that the finish of the e/s looks more satiny rather than full on frost.

what’s on your lips in this picture? I’m nosey and they look great!

  2. Marie says:

I’m glad I wasn’t able to get the Graphite palette from Sleek – while it is highly pigmented and wonderful, I wouldn’t able to work with it either with looking like I have either a. a black eye; b. decided to be goth for a day; or c. became a hooker. Too bad this palette isn’t brilliant.

  3. witoxicity says:

Hmmm, whatever colour you did manage to get out of it DOES look good. I like the finish.

Btw, I don’t mean to sound cheesy (ha ha!) but I’ve been really enjoying reading your posts, so I gave you a blog award in a post I did yesterday. Keep up the great work! :)

  4. AlicatAHL says:

That looks extremely wearable. I’m glad I didn’t get the Graphite palette as well, I don’t think I would have had much use out of it. I could be persuaded with this one though…

  5. Jo says:

Im still not over the false advertising :( still want Taupes :(

Looking gorgeous though hunny? what you wearing on your cheeks? I like.

  6. Thanks for the reivew! I’m really not loving the Sleek eye palettes these days!

  7. Farah says:

  8. Redtiger21 says:

I quite like the look of that- it’s more delicate than you average smokey eye isn’t it? How much was the pallette?

I’ve finally found a Superdrug near(ish) me that does both Gosh and Sleek- yayyyyyyy!!!

  9. AlicatAHL says:

Ho hum, I’ll be dangerously near a Superdrug on Friday… As Redtiger21 said, how much was it Charlotte?

  10. @Redtiger21 @AlicatAHL – ’tis £8.99 m’ladies.

  11. nicole says:

i love the look of this palette and you did a great smokey eye!

  12. Sarah says:

Eee, I bought this and tried to do an EOTD with it but the photo was too hopeless to post – I need a rad camera like yours (and some natural light, I always end up doing EOTDs in the evening). I was disappointed in the pale shades too, as I was hoping for a solid white.
