Remind you of anything?

Posted by Lipglossiping On April - 14 - 2010

Regular reader Julia couldn’t resist emailing me this link after she saw my January feature on the Chanel tattoo sensation that was “Les Trompe L’œil de Chanel”.

The original Chanel set was priced at £49 and I’m not sure if they’re still available?

The looky-likes (they also have swallows and other what-nots) from ‘Ink Wear’ are a less eye-watering £6.99

I haven’t bought from Ink Wear, so can’t personally recommend them… I’m actually surprised it’s taken this long for “inspired by” versions to put in an appearance!

What do you reckon? Thrifty Alternatives or Tacky El-Fake-O’s?

Edit: credit to the lovely Lisa Eldridge who first featured the inspired-by alternatives here!

    tacky, gross. xxx

  2. Lucy says:

I really like some of the designs – I knew it would only be a matter of time before the knockoffs began, because it’s really easy to copy it.

  3. Caz says:

Its ok although I prefer the Chanel ones even though they’re so expensive, I dont think I would ever buy them though as its not something I would use.

I’ve put a link to your post about the Fyrinnae Lip Lustres in my recent post, I hope its ok :)

  4. Just gimmie the real pearls please…..if I want a tat even temporary it wouldn’t be pearls.

Hope your feeling bit better today xxx

  5. Well I think the original Chanel tattoos were tacky as hell haha, so I cant really comment on these being tacky

    You know my thoughts ….

  7. Nicer price point but still wouldn’t buy!

Discovering about ink wear (i want everything on that website) has sadly probably made my day. Still have not placed my order for jinny rainbow stencils and I think I might need to do 2 little orders, instead of a big one to jinny. yes, this probably makes me as excited as you with fyrrinae ‘lipsticks’

I love it! The price makes me love it more!

  10. I have enough real tattoos not to need temporary ones… However, if I was going to, paying the Chanel price tag would just be out of the question.

I’d probably give the bracelets a go :) Saw the piano keyboard wristlet (?) and though it would be a bit tacky, i thought it might be fun to put over my wrist :) It might at the very least make my kid cousins find me interesting hahaha…

I actually blogged about these after trying afew out. Nothing very Chanel inspired though.

They are quite good but at the end of the day they do make you feel slightly like a child when they start to go dirty :/
