I used to dress like Sophie, I used to get people cross the street to avoid me, admit they thought I was a devil worshipper (so clichéd) and once a group of youths threw lit fireworks into the metal pub that me and friends used to visit.

I was so horrified by what happened to Sophie and her boyfriend. I am still into the metal scene, although I don’t dress that way now. Its just not tolerated here (that and it scares my son!) but I love going to gigs in London, no-one cares there.

It should be that way everywhere. We live in a diverse world, but hate and judgement are still rife and it needs to stop.
