I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve brought home a new foundation, only for the cold light of day to reveal a complete shade mismatch. If you’re contemplating your next foundation purchase, you may also want to contemplate giving Findation a try. Findation is a new website (still currently in the beta stage), whose aim is to match you with your perfect shade across the entire range of foundations on the market.
Ambitious? Of course, but makeup lovers everywhere know the worth of something that offers such a useful resource, Temptalia’s incredible Foundation Matrix has been helping women across the internet find suitable base-matches for a while now.
In order to grow an accurate and responsive database, the Findation website needs your help. Simply log on and enter all the foundation matches that you know (don’t guess!) are a good match for your skintone, this will help develop the algorithm that will be used to (hopefully) eventually be able to give the user an accurate match across ALL foundations just by them entering in their current foundation shade. Clever huh?

Do you struggle to find a match for your skintone?
I just checked out this site and I’m pretty impressed already!! I entered two of my current foundation colors and from that it gave me about 15-20 different matches from various brands and types(powder,liquid,cream,etc.) of foundation. I also like how it gives the matches percentage ratings as to what they think will best match your entered foudation colors!! This kind of tool will be great when it comes time to purchase a new foundation since the ever growing list of choices is expanding daily and can be somwhat daunting at times!!! Thanks for the scoop on this new website!!

Oh this is wonderful! What a great idea. I really struggle finding a foundation shade as I’m very very pale, and very pink in the face, but the rest of my body is very yellow. Makes finding foundation that suits me tricky!

This is going to be a godsend. Temptalia’s foundation matrix is great, but there seem to be too many “possibilities” of matches rather than coming up with one definitive match. The percentage is a nice touch, too – I’ve tested it and it works for me, it got my matches spot on!
It would be great if they could add real life swatches to it, too – that would make it perfect.

This is amazing, thanks so much for sharing. I’ll definitely be registering with this later today and passing it on to my friends as well. Unfortunately I’ll be one of those people who won’t be helpful and add foundations they know that work for them as I am useless when it comes to finding foundations for me. So It’s probably for the best haha.
