Inexpensive Beauty Find: Pound Shop Nail Polish Remover!

Posted by Lipglossiping On September - 8 - 2010

Not the most exciting beauty product to be featured on Lipglossiping… but you can’t get much cheaper than a quid, and when it’s a staple… that makes it a precious find!

I’m not sure if it’s seasonal stock… but I don’t *think* it is.  I’ve tried most supermarket brands, ‘named’ brands, chemist owned brands… and this is simply the best.  It may not be the most moisturising (though it does contain glycerin), but I don’t care.  I just want last week’s polish off my tips and QUICK!

Classics Nail Polish remover is available from Poundland and really, really does the job!

You can get 250ml of it in Home Bargains for 59p too, if it turns out to be seasonal stock/the bottle’s too big! x

  2. Lucy says:

Polish remover isn’t one of those things I’d ever spend loads on, I always buy the cheapo own brand stuff!

I did try Superdrugs polish remover wipes recently and I really like them.

  3. Janie says:

I think the Boots Expert “Clean Off” stuff is also fantastic.
£1.25 a bottle for those that don’t have a Poundland nearby!
The only issue is with leakage of the bottle, so store it well.
It is however the best polish remover I have ever used!

  4. Lisa says:

This is the one I use! Really does the job – removes everything really quickly and I can get away with using just one cotton pad for both hands. Love it! xx

  5. liloo says:

wicked! this is my kind of post. i shall have to keep my eyes peeles for this. I like using a supposedly whitening one from boots, i forgot the brand but the lid is purple. lol

  6. Jess says:

I love bargains, especially when they are even better than the more expensive brands. although my previous nail varnish remover was a cheap-ish one from boots, i will definitely be buying this and may include it in my future ‘bargains’ post.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. My current favourite NP remover is from Cutex called ‘Nourishing’. It smells really ‘milky’ when afar.. really really nice. I don’t know if it’s bad to be sniffing NP fumes but it smells so good 😡

    it’s like £2.15

  8. D says:

I managed to get that at a chemist a while ago and the bottle has lasted ages, it’s pretty good stuff too.

  9. I used to always use this when I had my own nails. Used to get it from Home Bargains for about 40p ha. Sadly though Im still wearing falsies, so have to use acetone free now.

I got an excellent shampoo and conditioner in Poundland about 4 yrs ago – it was so good that my hairdresser went to buy some in bulk for her salon, she was that impressed with it. Sadly as with most things in Poundland, it is there for a bit and then gone forever – still I will go and check it out. Totally agree that cheap nail polish remover is far superior to expensive.

  11. roxy says:

cool i’ve never seen this before. i usually use the SH nail polish remover

I use Wilkinson’s own… I think that’s only 79p? Does just as good a job as Cutex in my opinion!

The best remover I’ve ever used is from Lidl and only costs about 60p.
