NOTD – Nails Inc. – Victoria

Victoria is a perfect Autumn/Winter deep claret shade.  Application was fine, the above shows 2 coats.

I have a problem with this polish though.  Can you see where it’s semi-sheer in places?  Mainly visible near the cuticles.  Very frustrating.

A third coat would probably have fixed this… but for such a deep shade I wouldn’t have expected to have to apply so many!

Lovely colour, but I bet this shade is available from other brands with a better formula.

Ooh me likey! This is very vampy! :) I can’t see any sheerness!?!

I had the same problem with Nails Inc in ‘Tate’. Actually with a quite a few of their darker shades. Shame, cos I really like them. Methinks I’ll stick to Barry M for darker colours, my tried & tested favourites :)

Oh wow what a yummy color, those nails inc polishes look so great!

  4. Eliza says:

Stunning colour. Shame it requires multi-coats. I kind of expect it from cheap products but not Nails Inc.
Oh and thanks for adding me to your blogroll.

I’m wearing Dover St Market by Nails Inc and the consistency is very inconsistent and streaky – even after 2 coats. All the polishes I’ve tried of theirs are like this…… I also have this colour. It reminds me of Rouge Noir :)

Ooh, and I got it today and just realised it is the same colour you have on here. Free with Decembers Glamour mag! 4 shades available :)

  7. @Sophie, it’s kinda uneven near the cuticles?

  8. @Kim – I do love me a bit of Barry M!! I want the Navy and Racing Green (possibly) for winter.

  9. @Kae – I’m warming to them! I disliked them intensely to begin with. They can be quite thick, but once you get used to the application they’re hella long lasting!

  10. @Eliza – You’re welcome, and yes, it is a little disappointing!

  11. @Jamilla – Hello! Very Autumnal isn’t it!

  12. @Unetasse – I can’t think what Dover St looks like *googles* OOooh Purple, well you’ve just killed a lemming before it’s even begun!

  13. @Sophie – Yay! Do you like it?

I have to say I’m not overy impressed with Nails Inc- considering they’re not cheap, I think they could be better quality. I’ve got 2, one a deep red and one a pale baby pink (admittedly they were free with magazines, but that shouldn’t make any difference to the quality should it?), and while the red is ok, the paler one is really quite lame- it’s streaky and needs lots of coats. Thumbs down from me :(

    • Thanks for taking the time to leave me some lovely comments xxxx

Honestly, I think it makes a huge difference (although it shouldn’t!) My first Nails Inc was one I got free with Instyle back in May. I blogged about it on here… I thought it was rubbish and it’s taken me ages to get over it too!

What I will say, is that Nails Inc can be sometimes a little inconsistent and it’s definitely worth checking reviews before purchasing (as most colours can be duped). But definitely don’t decide on the quality from those freebie ones. They’re rubbish!! Shocking that they’d put them out there seeing as they’re gonna be an “introduction” to the brand for so many people, it’s a terrible first impression!!
