Not only the hardest formula for us gals to wear whilst going about our daily whatevers… but let’s do it in orange too shall we?
What I wanna know is this…
Does it really matter? I’m not sure I pay much attention to seasonal trends… I just wear whatever the hell I want. I guess I’d appreciate it if companies don’t go ALL OUT on the orange for their Spring collections, but meh… whatever, guess it’ll save me money right?
Do you follow so-called trends or even take much inspiration from them?
Oh dear, I have to admit, I would never wear an orange as strong as that applied as thickly as that but I’ve found a pale orange matte lipstick that looks pretty good! It’s far more subtle, in fact before I’ve done the finger-blend post-application it is a bit scary looking. Post blend however.. I have to say I love it! I don’t blindly follow trends but I do like trying things out if they appeal to me and if they work with my colouring and so on, why not? I hope that doesn’t qualify me as a fashion dozey 😉
I don’t follow any of the seasonal trends, every year it seems to be corals and pastels anyway. & on the odd occasion they bring out something like this which I don’t think we will ever catch on to. Catwalk yes, everyday, no.

I’m a bit of a tragic for orange and coral make-up anyway, so I’m probably a bit on the outside curve when it comes to liking this one.
I don’t know about the super matte finish though. Satin, sure. Gloss, of course. Mega matte in a difficult colour? Pass!
I disagree, it’s an easy formula to wear as matte lipstick are generally very long lasting (e.g. Illamasqua lipstick or MAC Matte finishes)
I could not give a monkey about trends, whether it’s makeup or fashion which is probably why I look frumpy all the time. I am a big big big big big big fan of orange lips and this photo is absolutely gorgeous, amazing colour. Not a chance in this world I could wear mega matte orange lips though. Orange lips should be juicy and you should want to kiss them 🙂
That looks clownish…I find it strange when they release a seasonal trend lipstick such as this and declare it on everybody…I would understand if it was a palette of select colors for spring so that you could select what suits you according to your skintone. I don’t believe in declaring 1 2 or 3 shades at the IT shades for the season…
I wear what looks good on me, and what I feel like wearing, whatever makes me bloom for that time of the year will have to do 🙂

I never follow the ‘trends’ and just go with whatever I am feeling for the day. May be smokey eyes one day and mascara & lipgloss the other! x
I would never wear a lip like that, but I think it’ll be dulled down a bit for us consumers… time to whip out our coral and peach lippies for spring (though, when is that not in style?).
Got to be honest, I don’t follow the trends at all, I just try to wear makeup that enhances my ‘natural beauty’ (yeah, natural like leatherette!). I’m in my 40s now and I just think I can end up looking like Mutton if I’m not careful.
That said, I can still rock a smokey eye with the best of them!
I’m not sure about orange, I expect it would look as if I had been kissing sand.
BUT I do think I could find a decent shade of orange but by the time I’ve done that, the trend would be over and matte lips as a rule are something I never do.

I think it’d depend on the trend…A lot of what comes down the runway isn’t directly translatable to everybody’s real life, but it can still be inspiring. The way I see it, trends come from this inspiration…so maybe some of us WILL be wearing orange lipstick come spring, though hopefully it will be a formula and shade that suits us!
Actually I thought this orange lip trend was supposed to have already happened this past summer, so maybe we are in for another round….

I love matte lips. Revlon’s matte lipsticks are very nice, and easy to wear. I especially like their bright red shade, it looks awsome.
I never follow trends, I wear whatever I like. However, I do like orange lipstick, even in this color. It actually looks really good on me. My skintone goes very well with orange.

I think such trends only look good on the catwalk. On normal folk? Very clowny!
Matte orange? No thanks!! I don’t think it looks good!
The only people I know who follow trends are people who create them or work in fashion. Seriously. That’s it. I guess we might adjust our makeup a bit based on what the ranges are selling but I feel bad for anyone that sees that, say, blue eyeshadow is in and then goes out and buys it without a second thought. It’s money down the drain because trends, by nature, don’t last!
I actually think orange lipstick is really neat to wear with no other makeup to the beach when I’m really tan. I tone it down a little and make it a more subtle orange, and I like to pair it with my huge Dior sunglasses 😀

I always HATED orange/coral lips. But the colour in this pic goes beyond the hate!
I love how it looks on the model, but in reality it’s gonna look like crap on most of us… what I learned this summer, experiencing with more orange lipsticks, it’s that if it doesn’t have any pink undertones, it’s just as bad and cringe-worthy as a concealer-ish nude!!!
