Today’s red lip is courtesy of Italian brand KIKO – I picked shade #222 Dark Red up a few weeks back and gave it a first outing the other day. I have to say, it’s not going to make it to my top twenty. Colour-wise, I love it but the texture is uncomfortable to wear, it feels cheap and it smells cheap. Just aswell it is cheap I guess?
I know that people laugh at paying good money for lipstick… essentially wax in a stick but wearing this has reinforced my appreciation for creamier, better-quality formulas. Having said that, I do still like the shade a lot… I’m just not sure whether I’ll be reaching for it too often.

But I am sure there are other lipsticks of about the same price range with better quality and without the cheap smell.
I tried lots of Kiko products because i’m italian and i often find myself tempted by their special offers, but 90% of the times i dislike what i bought in my “OMGSALE!” raptuses =D
The eyeshadows are kind of ok, some girls really make them work but they crease and fade on me for some reasons. The lipsticks are terribly drying and they feel chappy, i have a nude one i kind of like but i just dot it on my lips with a finger otherwise it start looking terrible after less than 1 hour and i feel like i have Sahara on my lips.
I really like a blush i bought there tho, it’s soft and pigmented =)
oh i’m sad to read that. I’m desperately trying to love kiko since the store opened in my home town and my friends are all over it since it is so cheap. but thing is everything is cheap, not only the price. I own one eyeshadow and the quality is good for the price but the colour – and it’s just a basic gold – seems tacky. I also own one eyeliner and it’s terrible – low colour payoff and really really hard and the nail polish looks great the first day and terrible the next (and I always use the same base and topcoat with every brand of nailpolish). I can’t wait to find that one great kiko product that will make me love the brand!
The KIKO basic line lipsticks, like the one you got, are not good at all. I find them waxy and drying. However, their new lines (Luscious Cream, Luminous Chrome and Velvet Mat) are completely different in texture and color payoff. I got two Luscious Cream lipsticks a while back and I really like them. Creamy, good wear, very confortable on lips and no scent at all. The one thing I don’t like is the packaging… they have this funky cap design that I don’t find practical at all.
Beautiful colour, but I hate smelly lippies as they tend to make the back of my throat feel funny.
This is a great colour! Reminds me of NARS Joyous Red. And I do like Kiko makeup too.

Im really sorry to hear that the lipstick was not good, I LOVE KIKO products, all items are manufacured in europe and they have a much better quality then most cosmetics of a similar price. I think the nail poliSh is much better then OPI! I have many differnt shades and the polish is so easy to apply and fast drying and chip free for at least 7days, if you apply the gel top coat it lasts even longer.
i have many shades of the luscious cream lipstick and i can honestly say that its has a really comforatble texture and string pigments and feels great on my lips!! so I am happy with my KIKO products!!
